    Does your church have solar panels? Has your community considered it?
    For those who have them, describe what you have and offer any advice to others that might be helpful.
    For those who have not taken this step, perhaps we can find some mentors that can help address obstacles and find opportunities.

    Unfortunately, the federal government issues its subsidies in the form of tax breaks which Churches cannot take advantage of, since we don’t pay federal taxes.
    But Christ Church in Summit, NJ is investigating whether it might make sense for a group of people to make the investment themselves and divide the tax breaks and revenues from solar energy production among themselves. The total cost of their system would be under $200,000 and the federal tax credit about $57,000. The projected annual revenue from energy sales should be around $12,500 a year.
