LGBTQ

Public Group active 5 years, 4 months ago

We offer a safe gathering space for Alliance members and friends to share concerns, joys, sorrows, stories and fellowship around issues pertinent to the LGBTQ community. Both LGBTQ persons and straight allies are invited to participate. In addition to reviewing, for potential update, the Alliance statement which was drafted some 20 years ago, we also hope to plan gatherings and/or retreats. The need for confidentially will be respected. Contact D.H. Clark.

Hello friends! I’d like to invite you to use this safe community space to foster ongoing conversations—especially after the gathering when you can’t see each other. Please let me know if you need help getting started!

    -peace,
    Mary

Very excited for this, Mary, and happy to have met you the other day. Glad to have a safe space to converse with other LGBT Baptists.

    Hi All,

It was indeed exciting to get together in Portland. Mary, thanks for getting me hooked up so that I can participate in this super community. I do think we should have some security, however, not so much that other glbtq people can’t be a part.

Please post any ideas that you all may have to make this community the vibrant force that is should be in this amazing fellowship that we call the Alliance.

    Hi Ronald,

First, welcome to AllianceConnect! We’re glad to have you join us and be a part of our Communities.

There are Alliance congregations in Dayton, Columbus, Granville, and Oberlin, Ohio, but unfortunately none in the Cincinnati area.

We hope you’ll find support and fellowship here on AllianceConnect and hopefully at some point there will be an Alliance-affiliated congregation close to you.

    Best wishes,

    Happy New Year ALL!

Ronald, hope the info that Kristy posted last week was helpful. Sadly, AWAB does not have any churches in Cincinnati either. Here is a link to the Welcoming Communities Church list. These are all of the churches from across the denominational families that have been approved as officially W&A. You can also check gaychurch.org to see what they list. Be careful though since there are churches that self-nominate and we ahve no idea if they are truly W&A or not.

    Happy church hunting.
