Peace & Justice Community

Can “advocacy” in the political world be a spiritual practice? For some of us, the work of advocacy is our response to God’s call to discipleship. The Peace & Justice Community works with ecumenical and interfaith groups who advocate for peace and justice on Capitol Hill. We will share our information with Alliance members through the ClearVoice network and other resources. Join us in working for those whose voices are not heard in our political discourse; or to help the Alliance lift its voice for peace & justice; or to work ecumenically for justice in our land and in our time. The rising use of war drones, or unmanned aerial vehicles, for unilateral military action is gravely concerning to people across a diverse spectrum of faith traditions. Now, more than ever, we see the deadly effects of continual targeted killings toward communities and individuals selected by a secretive team of administration officials without Congressional or public accountability or oversight. This tactic is not only morally unjust, but undermines U.S. and international laws and threatens national security.
Join the Washington, DC-based Interfaith Working Group on Drone Warfare for an update on Congressional activities, country-specific concerns, and find out how you can get more involved in the interfaith effort to end the use of drones and promotion of peace.
